The Sleeping Beauty Cake (La Belle Au Bois Dormant)

And so she slept for a 100 years.
Sleep well my dear friend Lorraine Thyer (R.I.P). Asleep in that castle.

In a Good Book the Best is Between the Lines

A pile of three books for my friend's Mum's birthday.
These books were the hardest cakes I have had to do to date because of the way they were sitting and all the support that had to go in to stacking them. The cakes were chocolate, vanilla and coffee.

I love the pen added to the books, in dedication to Pam's published writing skills!

Alan Bennett's Talking Heads Cakes

College project: create six cakes on a theme of your choice. Naturally I wanted to do something quirky so created these Talking Heads cakes.

Mum's Birthday Cake

I decided to make Mum a birthday cake with three different flavours all in one cake: after all Mum said she liked chocolate, strawberry and vanilla in equal measures so who was I to say no!
So the results speak for themselves.

Christmas Cakes (As featured on Nicki Chapman's Radio 2 Show)

Rich fruit cake for Christmas; nothing better. I used a recipe for a boiled fruit cake from my college.

These are examples of the Christmas cakes that I made:

 Chante c'est noel!
The Holly and the Ivy!

Oh Little Town of Bethlehem!

A Child is Born

Scott's 40th Birthday Surprise Cake

This cake was a real challenge!
My friend David wanted a very special birthday cake created for his brother-in-law's 40th birthday. He showed me an idea he liked of a champagne bottle exploding with shiny stars. Was I up to the challenge of making a similar one?  It was over Christmas so most of my Christmas cake orders were well on the way to completion so I agreed.
The results were as follows:
Pulling The Pin

Pop!

Happy 40th Scott!
